Around 20 media representatives with national coverage responded to a call for Working Breakfast with Journalists at REF Serbia office, with the aim to present the \u201cEmployment Empowerment of Young Roma \u2013 phase two\u201d project activities.<\/p>\r\n

Two project beneficiaries spoke at the event, and two more were interviewed for live television program. Dragoljub Barcic from Nis described his experiences within the project activities: \u201cI have lived in Germany for several years and when I returned to Serbia it was necessary for me to find a job. I have heard that many young Roma from my neighborhood got employed with the support of REF Serbia. So I went to one workshop organized by REF Serbia where we were prepared for a job interview at the company Johnson Electric. I wrote my first CV at that workshop. Soon after I was invited for an interview at the company Johnson Electric, which was very successful. I have signed a Labor contract and now I am performing all my tasks independently. I am very satisfied with this job, and the most important thing is that I don\u2019t have to wander abroad but can live and work here in my own city.\u201d\"\"<\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Some of the media with national coverage that participated in the Working Breakfast with Journalists were Radio Television Serbia, PRVA televizija, News Agency TANJUG and Studio B. Several representatives of the written media, along with online media, also participated.<\/p>\r\n

Another project beneficiary that spoke at this event was Marija Banovic Bogosavljevic from Krusevac: \u201cTaking into account that I have graduated from the Faculty of Law, REF Serbia team advised me on ways for improving my knowledge and skills in a best possible way. Therefore, I received support from REF Serbia during my internship at a Law Office and preparations for passing the bar exam. So far, I am very satisfied with the experience I have gained during internship and with the mentor from who I can learn a lot. I hope that I will continue to make progress and eventually be able to provide free legal aid to Roma community.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

All of the media representatives had positive reactions, especially after hearing the beneficiaries speak, and were very interested to hear more which is why their questions were mostly on the subject of beneficiaries\u2019 experiences in education and employment and plans for the future in more details.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
