Enrollment in the first grade of primary school

The enrollment of children in the first grade of primary school, which traditionally begins on April 1st, will start later this year due to the current situation and the state of emergency. Instead of enrollment, as of 1st April parents and other legal representatives will be able to contact the school they want to enrol their child in through new service “Expression of interest in enrolling in primary school” on the e-Government portal and by telephone.

In this way, schools will record the parents’ interest in enrolling their child in a particular school so that they can know what number of students they can expect. All parents who will use this electronic service will be notified of the date of enrollment in primary school as soon as it is defined.

After defining the date of enrollment, a service for scheduling appointments for enrolment and testing will be available on the e-Government portal, which will enable parents to complete all enrolment procedures during one appointment at school without having to bring a single document, as well as to perform testing with psychologist/pedagogue.

Within this service on the e-Government portal schools will obtain information from birth registers, from the register of residence and from the health information system about the medical examination performed.
