“This is a positive example of a cooperation with the City that recognizes the importance of employment of Roma as a step towards successful inclusion. Young Roma from Niš will get the opportunity to work, to present a good practise example to the Roma community and prove that the education leads to employment and economic prosperity“, project manager Nataša Kočić-Rakočević stated. She thanked the representatives of the City of Niš with hope that the other cities will show the same motivation in supporting the process of Roma inclusion.

Niš City major, Darko Bulatović, said: “The City of Niš will do everything to improve the position of the Roma community”. The member of Niš City Council, Tijana Đorđević Ilić, thanked for this program and the opportunity given to the City of Niš to contribute to the employment and education of young Roma.

Within the cooperation with Aster Tekstil company, Kristina Mustafić from Niš got her first job: “I graduated from Electrical Engineering High School, department Telecommunications technician. Currently, I am employed at Aster, with the support of Roma Education Fund Representative Office. First, I was intern for three months, and after that got a Labor contract by the Aster company.”

Institutions and companies with whom Roma Education Fund Representative Office established cooperation on the territory of the City of Niš are Health Center, Nis Cultural Center, Aster Textile and Johnson Electric.
