“I will graduate, I will be the best mother, and I will never leave my children.”

“When I was 10, I ran away from home with my brother. After couple of days, we were found and brought here
to the Home.”

Aranka was one of the Secondary scholarship and mentorship program beneficiary during her secondary education towards a third-degree diploma. Within the component 2, she is currently attending fourth grade of secondary school. She rarely sees her mother, while her father passed away last year.

However, Aranka is not alone, she has friends Aleksandar and Elvis. All three of them are project beneficiaries finishing their fourth grade of secondary school.

“My father used to beat me. Once, he cut my hair, I looked like a boy. Elvis then bought me some hairpins, with lots of ribbons and ties. He made me feel better, even though my hair was too short for so many hairpins.”

Aranka is anxious when it comes to living outside of the Home, but she also gained a lot of confidence with
additional training she enrolled with the support of REF.
