The Ministry of Education takes over the managing of the Scholarship Program for Roma pupils in secondary schools

In May 2018, the Representative Office of the Roma Education Fund (REF) organized training for mentors who were engaged in working with Roma students attending secondary schools. Over the past years, REF provided mentors with training called Mentoring Support for Roma High School Students in Successful School Completion which has two modules. The first module is called Introduction to the role of a mentor, and the second module is the Mentor Practice with the student. Accreditation of the third module of training under the title Role of mentors in strengthening the life skills and competences for the world of work of scholarship students is also planned. All trainings aim to provide continuous and comprehensive support to mentors, as well as to strengthen their competencies for providing appropriate forms of support for Roma students attending secondary schools. At the end of each of these trainings, the mentor acquires certain experiences, skills and tools for work. At the same time, it is expected that this process will contribute to the professional experience of mentors, as well as the exchange of acquired knowledge with other colleagues in the school where the mentor works.
