In May 2018, Roma Education Fund Representative Office established cooperation with Aster Tekstil. Aster Textile’s registered seat is in Turkey and clothing production is based in Serbia. In the framework of this cooperation, 13 young Romani men and women are employed in the production of apparel in Nis, and in the coming period, 10 more will be engaged through the program of professional practice. The engagement of these young people begins with a three-month professional practice program, and then continues with the employment in Aster Textile. In addition to training in the production of clothing, young people learn the work ethic, work habits and functioning in a large team of employees during their professional practice. Of the 13 young people employed in production in Aster Tekstil, two have progressed to the position of plant supervisor, within which they supervise the work of other employees.
