Mentor support to Roma secondary students

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development (MESTD) is taking over during this school year management over the scholarship program for secondary school students which will be financed through IPA 2014 funds and within which 500 high school students of Roma nationality will be provided with scholarships. During the past two years, the Roma Education Fund Representative Office (REF) has implemented a scholarship program for secondary school students and mentor support through the project ā€œImproved Education and Integration Opportunities for Roma in Serbia, Employment Empowerment of Young Roma, and Reintegration of Returneesā€ funded through the German Financial Cooperation program, implemented by the German Development Bank KfW on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Germany ā€“ the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. All 313 scholars who were awarded scholarships by REF last year will be this school year again provided with scholarships through IPA 2014 funds. It is expected that the MESTD will at the beginning of the second semester of the school year 2018/19 open a contest for 187 new students.
